Someone in California has accidentally been applying to retail jobs and giving my gmail address.
I was looking at one of the reply emails, from Macy’s. You do not want to work in a department store’s IT department.
First, look at the return address: HR@macysjobs.bloomingdalesjobs.com
Second. look at the job title “the position of Retail Sales - General Inquiry: Macy’s Rancho Cucamonga.” That is not a job title, unless it is a strange euphemism for industrial espionage.
Third, I clicked on the link in the email, and it gave me incredibly convoluted instructions about how to apply without an email address.
please enter your phone number@invalidemail.com (Ex. 513-555-1234@invalidemail.com) in the Email Address field. Be sure to include your area code at the beginning of your phone number.

The first time Jacqueline Wimbush got into a fight and lost a fingertip, doctors managed to save it.
